Massage therapy is meant to help you relax, reduce pain, and feel better both physically and mentally. At On Point Thai Therapy, your comfort is always a priority. Many clients are unsure about what they are allowed to do during a treatment, especially if it is their first time. The truth is — this is your session, and you are always allowed to adjust things to make yourself feel more comfortable.
Here are some common things clients can do during a massage to help them relax and enjoy the treatment.
You Can Ask to Use the Washroom Anytime
Your comfort comes first. If you need to use the washroom during your session, you can simply let your therapist know. Treatments can always be paused and continued when you are ready. There is no need to feel embarrassed — this is completely normal.
You Can Blow Your Nose, Cough, or Clear Your Throat
Sometimes when you start relaxing, your body reacts naturally. If you need to cough, sneeze, or blow your nose, that is perfectly okay. Tissues are usually available in the room, and your therapist understands that these things happen.

You Can Ask for Pressure Changes
Massage pressure should never feel unbearable. Some clients prefer deep pressure, while others prefer a lighter, more relaxing treatment. You can always ask for:
More pressure
Less pressure
Slower movements
More focus on a certain area
Less work on a sensitive area
Your therapist will adjust the treatment to your needs.
You Can Change Your Position if Needed
If you feel uncomfortable lying face down, face up, or on your side, let your therapist know. Pillows, bolsters, and different positions can be used to make you more comfortable, especially if you have pain, injuries, or stiffness.
You Can Talk or Stay Quiet
Some clients like to talk during their massage, while others prefer silence. Both are completely fine. This is your time to relax, so you can choose what makes you feel most comfortable.
You Can Ask Questions During the Treatment
If you are unsure what the therapist is doing, or if something feels different, you can always ask. Understanding the treatment can help you feel more relaxed and confident.
You Can Ask to Stop at Any Time
You are always in control of your session. If something does not feel right, if you feel uncomfortable, or if you need a break, you can ask the therapist to stop or change the treatment at any time.
Your Comfort Is the Most Important Part of the Treatment
Massage therapy works best when your body is relaxed and your mind feels safe. At On Point Thai Therapy, we want every client to feel comfortable, respected, and cared for during every session.
If you ever feel unsure about anything during your treatment, just let your therapist know — we are here to help you feel your best.
